Obadiah Parker is a folk/pop band from Scottsdale, Arizona comprised of Mat Weddle (vocals, guitar), Jessie Young (piano/keyboards, trumpet, vocals), and Daniel Zehring (bass, vocals). The band has recorded an EP and a live CD, both of which contain a mixture of covers and original material. Weddle has also appeared in a popular video, propagated on the internet, playing an acoustic cover of Outkast's "Hey Ya".

Weddle, Young, and Zehring first met through a local church over ten years ago and developed their interest in music into a functioning band together. They cite bands like Counting Crows and Dave Matthews Band as their influences. Obadiah Parker's first full length album was released on iTunes on April 2, 2007, and will be in general release on May 19, 2007.

Although the band is unsigned, they have been the subject of media attention for their performances in Arizona and for Weddle's version of "Hey Ya". Sources estimate that over a million people have viewed the video. The performance was recorded at a local open mic night, was put in rotation on Arizona radio stations, and eventually became the most-requested song at a Chicago radio station. The song has now been played all over the US and internationally.[3] Artist André 3000, who performed the original, has made positive comments about Weddle's version.
